Pretend for a moment that you are reading Psalms 85 with no real idea of how or what to expect when the world comes to an end. Pretend that you do not know, nor have been taught the typical “666 on your forehead”, “getting your head cut off by the anti-Christ”, all the horrible devastation that you have been convinced would come to pass nearby or soon, as we enter to the very last of days! Now read with me Psalms 85 and let me tell you that it too is a prophesy of no private interpretation, which tells a story and gives insight into what will become of the people who belong to the Lord in the last days.
(Psa 85:1) To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.
You see I know that this chapter speaks to the people of God in the last days because of what is said in the first verse. This verse places us at a time in which God has done two things, he has been favourable unto his land, and he has brought back the captivity of his people from Babylon. While this had been fulfilled in the natural to the natural people of Jacob recorded in Ezra, this has not been fulfilled in the spiritual yet for the people of God, it’s a promise we are still waiting for. As the scriptures say, (1Co 15:46) Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. We also know that every Saint has been called to come out of Babylon, as recorded in Revelations, also many of the OT Prophets have rather clearly written of this as well.
(Rev 18:4-5) And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
While Babylon is a spiritual kingdom which rules over the kings of the earth, there is also a spiritual land which has been defiled by the inhabitants of this land. Just as there was a natural land extensively prophesied over by the Prophets of old, proclaiming judgements, such as “behold I will destroy thy mother”, all that the scriptures said about the natural land and the judgments on that land have also a spiritual application to our spiritual land.
(Gal 4:25-26) For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Galatians chapter 4 tells us that the natural land is in bondage with her children, but Jerusalem from above is truly the land flowing with milk and honey, she is the mother of us all. Now this was written two thousand years ago and much has happened since this was recorded in the scriptures by the will of God. Just as the natural city of Jerusalem, a type and a shadow of things to come, was once the mother of the people of God and fell into desolation and destruction, so has the spiritual land, as it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual.
So the Lord will deliver is people out of spiritual captivity and he will heal and rebuild the land after he cleans up the mess it has become, because of the evil people who inhabit it.
(Psa 85:2-3) Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.
While the blood of Jesus still has power as it always has to cover sins, we know that there is no sacrifice for sin when we willfully sin.
(Heb 10:26-31) For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
(Psa 85:4-6) Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease. Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations? Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
Sadly so many proclaiming Christians today, delusionally carry on, they rejoice in their flesh, they are careless and don’t really believe in the judgement of God, they see themselves as just carnal sometimes Christians who God isn’t finished with yet, sadly they really need to get some eye ointments, they really need to get the living Word in their hearts, time is running out! If you cannot acknowledge the problem, then stop wasting your time asking God for a revival, it isn’t going to happen until you come face to face with reality.
(Psa 85:7-8) Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation. I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
But you think you were saved many years ago when you said that little prayer, right? Wake up!
(Psa 85:9) Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
Because, wisdom and knowledge begins with the fear of God, not according to the precepts of men, but the fear of God which is really a great treasure to be sought out by the people of God.
(Psa 85:10-12) Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
(Psa 85:13) Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.
