I was speaking to a young man recently who was fairly knowledgeable of the scriptures, not as knowledgeable as I am, but I was impressed. He and his family are very influential in the church denomination they are members of. As we were speaking of the things of God, it became apparent that I only had Jesus to uphold, not an organized religion, but the young man I was speaking with had his organized religion, which to him was the same as Jesus to uphold, or at least, along with Jesus to uphold. After spending some time speaking with the young man I came to realize something so familiar to me, something I have experienced over and over and over again in my life, so many times I cannot count them; I had entered into a conversation with a brand of religion that believed it’s self superior to mine. As I and the young man became engulfed in the conversation, it became apparent that he found my testimony suspect, he clearly believe his way superior to mine, he had an organization to uphold, I only had Jesus to uphold.
I am asking the question today, “Why is judgment so corrupt among Christians?” If you read the scriptures, you must know that there is hardly no issue more important to the Lord. I recently posted an article entitled “All wicked judges go to hell“, certainly I don’t need to convince you of this right? There is no subject that underlines the righteousness or the wickedness of a man and God, more than his judgment. (Psa 9:16) The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.(Psa 25:9) The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.(Psa 37:28) For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. (Psa 76:8-9) Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still, When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah. (Pro 13:23) Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.
And time would fail me if I were to list the hundreds and thousands of scriptures on the subject!
I have literally spent years, hundreds of letters, articles, emails pleading with my Christian brothers,
- “WHY WON’T YOU DO JUSTICE, LOVE MERCY AND WALK HUMBLY WITH YOUR GOD?”
- “WHAT IS MY SIN, WHY WON’T YOU SPEAK TO ME, HOW CAN I BE YOUR BROTHER, WHY DO YOU HATE ME?”
- “WHERE IS YOUR JUDGMENT, WHERE IS YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, WHY ARE THE PEOPLE OF GOD SCATTERED ON EVERY SIDE?”
- “WHY IS YOUR JUDGMENT CORRUPT BROTHER, WHY!, WHY!, WHY! ?
And the silence and the backbiting whispers and the non-answers and the lies, all point to this truth the Lord continues to re-enforce to me. (Hab 1:4) Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.
I have been very aware of this reality, that the people of God are still living in confusion, they are living in Babylon, they still have the ways of Babylon in them. Babylon is a word that means confusion. When Nimrod built the tower of Babel, a building to his glory, a building made of bricks, a building to get Nimrod closer to God, God confused the languages because men could not be trusted to walk in unity with such power (Gen. 11:9). Today we have people all claiming to be Christians and yet they are scattered into denominations and religious sects because God will not, does not trust them to such unity. God confuses the languages and so when they speak to each other, they get checks and trouble in their spirits, they don’t understand, they don’t judge rightly, because God will not give them the power of unity, they cannot be trusted with such power. If men would just fear God, if men would just obey the truth by faith, if men would just love the brethren, if men would just judge rightly, then deliverance from confusion would be knocking at the door, but they will not, so they are scattered by the Lord to weaken them as a people.
(Isa 42:1-3) Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
The above scriptures give some evidence as to what true judgment will look like. The first component of true judgment is the spirit of man, it is the spirit of man that knows the things of man and the spirit of God, the things of God. When our spirit is right, then our judgment is also right. There are people who play the numbers game, they figure if they make their voice to be heard loud and wide on the internet (our street today), that their judgments are then established, since more people hear them, they must be right. But true judgment is true by it’s self, it doesn’t need to be heard on the street to be right. Those who seek to have their voice heard to validate themselves are idolators who love the praise of men, rather than the praise of God. And finally, those who bring forth judgment unto truth do not break others who are bruised reeds, neither do they put out the fire in the hearts of their brothers. Think about this last statement, “he shall bring forth judgment unto truth” this brings some other scriptures to mind.
- (Mat 5:16) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Bringing judgment to truth makes judgment more than just your sense of a matter, but it becomes apparent to men, and they will glorify God because of your good works.
- (Luk 20:26) And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace. Jesus had answers, not just a feeling that brought him to a judgment, he brought judgment unto truth before all men.
- (1Pe 3:15) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: – Bringing judgment to truth.
- (2Ti 2:23-26) But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. – Bringing judgment unto truth.
Dear confused brothers and sisters, when you come out of your confusion, your judgments will not be based on your fear or suspicion, it will not be because you got a check in YOUR spirit, your judgment of others will not be hidden, based on some intuition or so called discernment; but your judgment will bring judgment unto truth for all to see! I started this article off speaking of my conversation with a young religious man. I clearly gave him answers, I knew the scriptures better than he did, so he resorted to a question of suspicion and fear – so completely typical! He asked “when were you saved and how did you get saved?” So I though to myself, “here I am 53 years of age, perhaps speaking to a young man half my age, I have been seeking to serve the Lord all of my life, so much has happened to me over the years that I cannot even begin to speak of it all, I have a wife of 30 years, seven children and five grandchildren, yet this young man would like to find a problem with my conversion so he can, in his wisdom, set me straight!” So I refused to go there, which I am sure just confirmed his suspicions and fear. I spoke to him with answers and truth, I brought judgment to truth, right before his eyes, yet he had a check in his spirit and when all was said and done, his judgment was based on fear and suspicion, clearly a young man living in confusion!
(Jas 3:13-17) Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Brothers and sisters, there can be no unity without righteous judgment. This judgment must be based on truth, not suspicion and fear. I know for a fact that the judgment of the people of God today is corrupt, it favors the praise of men rather than God. I will continue to ask of those who believe themselves capable of examining me, even over the internet based on sound bites of misunderstood words, I will continue to ask them the same things Jesus asked the scribes and pharisees,
“What is my sin, and why do you hate me for speaking the truth, and where are your answers to my carefully thought out contentions? And when will you forsake your corrupt judgments and bring judgment to truth?”
(Isa 29:20-21) For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off: That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.
And the Lord comforts me with these words: (Isa 66:5) Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
I wish none of these judgments on anyone – but hear me brothers, the Lord is coming back and when he comes back will he find faith on the earth?
