What I will NEVER understand about remnant Christians (or whatever they wish to call themselves, the anti-institutional – anti-church going – anti-Babylon sort) They always claim they want unity with “like-minded” fellow saints, yet they refuse to rightly judge others. That is they refuse to behave themselves in a manner so as to ascertain the truth about those who they come in contact with who claim the mantle of “Remnant Saints”.
The scriptures are chalked full of instruction about dealing with brothers, scriptures like Matt. ch. 18, you are told in so many words “if you have a problem with your brother don’t bother offering your gifts to God at the altar before you make it right with him, go to your brother first.” However, I am not talking about the way to behave with brothers here, I am rather addressing how to behave among people who claim the mantle of “The Remnant”, yet in all practical honesty, they remain strangers.

(Luk 6:47-49) Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
Many people read the above scripture and interpret it as the institution of a law, if they can read where Jesus said “feed the poor and visit people in prison”, and they deem themselves as having completed or obeyed this perceived “Law of Christ”, then they count themselves as sound and truly the disciples of Christ. Others may look at the command given to the disciples of Christ before his ascension to “preach the gospel”, they have no grace to preach, neither are they personally sent by God to preach, but they count themselves as obeying the “Law of Christ”, and therefore sound as “doers of the Word”. (Rom. 10:15) Would you like an example?
The above video is an extreme example of someone preaching who is not sent, there are many that are far less offensive, and even appear far more loving, but the Lord has not sent them!
What we need to do is take a closer look at what Jesus is teaching and what his Apostles taught so we can expose these works of iniquity, so that none of ourselves would deceive ourselves, thinking that our works are righteous, when they are not.

Today I want to talk about reasoning, why I know what I know, why my hope is not in vain, why I know I am right about my beliefs, where my foundations lay. There are those who trust in their scholarship and you know in order to be scholarly one needs smart intellect, self discipline, training or schooling and reputation for all of the above. I know human nature, if you can get a doctorate degree and title yourself with a “Dr” by your name, that is a very influential tool that will at least get one a chance to be taken seriously in their scholarship. You should already have noticed that I did not say that one needs to be saved, filled with the Holy Spirit or supernaturally gifted by God in order to be a biblical scholar. Being a biblical scholar is NOT a gift of the Holy Spirit, it’s like any other natural ability that needs training a talent, I know how to work with my hands, I am quite good at it, while the Lord helps me all the time, but that is not a gift of the Holy Spirit.

I decided to set the bible aside today, and just tell you in simple English what is different about me. Maybe some would think that I am just the same as everyone else, but I know that I am not. If I were like everyone else, then I wouldn’t need this blog, there would be no reason to write anything. It’s because the Lord has made me different, I have ideas that are not common and ways that are here to challenge you to your very core. Over a course of time I have approached many people highly respected and simply asked them to judge me, I wanted them to explain to me why I am different, none of them could judge me, they just all had an opinion and none of them had properly used the scriptures, none of them agreed with the judgement to any remarkable extent at all. But I do have judgement and so let me tell you what is different about me.

I woke up last night, which is not unusual for me, and read Isa. 50 & 51. I am a little stirred by the six times in the 51st chapter to the beginning of the 52nd chapter that we are told to “Awake” – H5782
עוּר
‛ûr
oor
A primitive root (rather identical with H5783 through the idea of opening the eyes); to wake (literally or figuratively): – (a-) wake (-n, up), lift up (self), X master, raise (up), stir up (self).
Each time we are told to “Awake”, it is repeated twice – “Awake, awake”. I did find the word “Awake”, in Isaiah a seventh time (KJV), but it was a different word and it was speaking of the resurrection from the dead (interesting?). I am not a big numbers kind of guy, but I did notice Isaiah repeats this word six times, the number of man.

I continue to warn my brothers and sisters, the Lord is coming back and it won’t matter what people think of you, it will only matter what the Lord thinks of you. The Lord has plainly written this criteria in the scriptures, in many forms, at many locations, so why won’t you listen? I have in front of me a folder that I put together years ago when I was speaking on blog talk radio, I put it together to help me remember important scripture locations. Pasted on the cover of this folder are some of the following scriptures:

Dear Brother, I would ask the question today, are you upright in heart? Do you really, HONESTLY, want to know the Truth and be set free by that truth, no matter what the cost? Are you truly willing to be wrong, if you really are wrong? Do you really want to be corrected, do you really want your way to be made straight? If you truly are upright in heart then the answer to all of the above would have to be a resounding “YES!!” Read the short 11th chapter of Psalms, it says much more than you might think, and then let’s talk about it.

(Php 2:12-15) Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
We are sadly living at a time that no one receives rebuke or correction anymore, I rebuke you, you rebuke me, I claim that you are prideful and you claim that I am prideful, so when all is said and done we sound like two children saying “Yes”, “No”, “Yes”, “No”… just for the fun of it! We are so far removed from the scriptures above, so that everything we do, just about, is with murmurings and disputings. Even when some false peace maker comes along in their own pride and demands that peace is more important than truth, they demand that murmurings and disputings must come to an end so that they can calmly take control without dispute, we still in our hearts are full of murmurs and disputes!

(Jer 4:3) For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
Many in the remnant community, outside the structured harlot church system, are trying the best they can to be salt and light, they wish to obey the great commission. (Matt. 28:20) I fear many of these people are attempting to obey the bible like some sort of rule book, they have not been sent by the Holy Spirit to preach, yet they persist. (Jer 23:21) I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. (Rom 10:15) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
All of you, especially you of the remnant community should be very well aware that you should not read the bible like a rule book, but instead you all should be led by the Spirit of God. It shouldn’t be you living in you; and you doing the things that you think are right, but instead it should be Christ living in you and the Holy Spirit leading you.
